The CLARKSVILLE MAIN STREET PROGRAM was established in 2003 as a part of the TEXAS MAIN STREET PROGRAM through the TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION.
The mission of the Clarksville Main Street Program is to create a vibrant downtown area that is true to our historic heritage, promotes economic progress and the local diverse culture. We will work toward accomplishment of this mission by participating with the City of Clarksville, the local tourism organizations, the Chamber of Commerce, current business owners, entrepreneurs, community members, volunteers and all interested parties.
The Texas Main Street Four-Point approach - ORGANIZATION, PROMOTION, ECONOMIC RESTRUCTURING, and DESIGN will be the cornerstone and foundation method of restoring our historic charm, architecture and reviving economic development in our downtown business district.
The purpose of the Historic Red River County Barn Quilt Trail is to highlight the rich heritage of Red River County, Texas.
Visitors to the Historic Red River County Barn Quilt Trail will discover beautiful and unique designs displayed on barns, homes, sheds, businesses, and public buildings. Many barn quilts are one of a kind designs and have special meaning to the property owner.
The Historic Red River County Barn Quilt Trail is a new and growing trail that began in 2019. New barn quilt locations are being added weekly. Visit us often to see additions to the trail.
